A 3 part spoken word teaching series focused on growth in writing and performance poetry skills as well as encouraging youth to speak on important topics that heavily weigh on them. Through community, interactive activities, and writing prompts, participants will write a poem based on a topic they must “get out” to the world, whether for personal growth and healing or for communal growth and change, and perform at a final spoken word event. This workshop is designed to help young people ages 12-16 use their voice for positivity, step out of their comfort zones, and influence their communities through the art of spoken word.
